Geniedex is a platform where individuals and organisations can collaborate in creating an index for the genealogical resources of Ireland.
People researching their ancestors from Ireland will be aware that many of our records have been destroyed. However, as a response to that loss there has been a huge effort to identify unusual and unique records, and in some cases make them available online. In addition, many of the church records which survived have been transcribed by commercial and volunteer organisations.
Geniedex is looking to work with anyone who has gathered or is gathering data which may be useful to genealogists. The plan is to host our own data on this site, as well as link to other organisations. In the future we hope to find a way of rewarding contributors with community kudos and user privileges.
If you are interested in becoming part of this project you are sincerely invited to register, and if you have records which may be of interest please get in touch via the Contact Us page.
